Roaming bosses

Commanders

They move around Hajin and shrug off a lot of standard damage. Bring a plan and a squad.

Commander

Colossus

What
Seven-foot armored heavy soldier with a depleted-uranium minigun and a gas canister on its back. Roaming Commander boss.
Roams
Roams Hajin. Reported at 14th Political Prison/The Citadel, Cheonwang Peak Array, Chang-san Air Base Armory, Haneul Reactor yard, Cheongun Village and Songdo Wharf.
How to beat
Explosives do nothing (in-game callout). Keep up rifle or LMG fire from cover or high ground, shoot during minigun pauses, and stay out of its gas and close-range shock.
Drops
Legendary printer ingredients (Military Composites and/or Experimental Compounds) plus loose loot nearby. First kill pays $50,000 on the Boss Board.
Note
Some list sites suggest C4 or thermite, but field guides quote the Team Leader saying its suit is immune to explosives. One Ultra Volt-Edge drop has been reported.

Commander

Deathstalker

What
Helicopter-sized autonomous attack drone with twin machine-gun turrets. The airborne Commander.
Roams
Eastern Hajin City: The Grid, DBN Headquarters helipad, NuriGO Mall/NuriGO West, Compound Delta. Also spotted over Cheongun Village.
How to beat
Capture a nearby SAM site (about 30 seconds) and it downs the drone with one missile. Otherwise pour AR or sniper fire into the cockpit from cover.
Drops
Wreck has 'Helicopter Piece' containers: Prototype RF Module (Legendary ingredient), Printed Circuit Board, and the Drone Motherboard for the Death From Above order. $50,000 first kill.
Note
Can share the DBN Headquarters roof with Roze. It attacks that helipad during Operation Grid Assault. Leave the SAM zone and the enemy retakes the site.

Commander

Main NK Battle Tank

What
North Korean main battle tank on high-alert patrol. Its main gun one-shots vehicles and a roof MG covers infantry.
Roams
Roads and highways across Hajin, with no fixed route. Most sightings are on roads around NuriGO Mall.
How to beat
Bullets barely hurt it. Bring launchers and extra ammo, fight from hard cover with an exit, and break line of sight between volleys. Reactive armor reduces RPG damage.
Drops
Nano-Structured Alloy (Legendary ingredient, reportedly for a 3-plate vest). Search the front, rear and top of the wreck. $50,000 first kill.
Note
The least-documented Commander. Guides disagree on whether thermite, C4 or drill charges damage it; player reports say only launchers worked.

Fixed spawns

Lieutenants

Each one guards a spot and always drops a Dog Tag Case. Picking it up broadcasts your position.

Lieutenant

Gorani

Location
Mujin Pass woodland camp, in the high woods above Hanrim Village
Region
South Korean Wilderness, south of Cheonwang Peak Array
Weapon
Incisor: Legendary marksman rifle built on the MAR-9 ($6,900). The fallback drop is a Rare MAR-9.
Drops
Incisor or MAR-9, Gorani's Dog Tag (Legendary), Infantry Invasion Plans, and the Dog Tag Case that every Lieutenant drops
Intel
$25,000 at the Boss Board. Reported to need the Underground, Counterfeit and Human Intel Orders chapters first.
Tips
Ghillie-suited sniper who uses smoke and decoy clones that vanish when shot. Confirm the real target, then close in with an AR. Story fiction gives him an M4.

Lieutenant

The Chemist

Location
Haneul Nuclear Reactor: warehouse on the east side beside the reactor tanks, inside the radiation zone
Region
Northeast Hajin, South Korean side (High threat)
Weapon
Revenant: Legendary marksman rifle ($7,500). Several list sites call it an Oris 8.6 blueprint.
Drops
Revenant (chance), Chemist's Dog Tag, W.M.D. Manifest (Epic valuable, $5,000), and a cache with a Comms Module and Control Unit
Key
The Chemist's Secure Armory: bunker door by the northeast boathouse (single source)
Intel
$25,000. Listed as open without a chapter lock.
Tips
Use Radiation Blockers or a gas mask; a hazmat suit helps in the red core. Clear the hazmat guards at the single doorway, then push to the rear bay.

Lieutenant

Jin-Tae

Location
Heavenly Luck Casino main floor, Cheongun Village
Region
North Hajin, South Korean side (casino is High threat)
Weapon
High Roller's Fortune: Legendary gold ISO Nightshade SMG blueprint. A plain Epic ISO Nightshade ($2,300) also drops.
Drops
ISO Nightshade or its blueprint, Jin-Tae's Dog Tag, a loot backpack
Key
Jin-Tae's Private Lounge: casino penthouse (single source)
Intel
$25,000. Locked at first and opens with Orders progress; DMZ Codex reports the unlock as finishing the Counterfeit and Human Intel chapters. Check your board.
Tips
Get off the open floor. Hold the rear office corridor or shoot down from the upper balcony. His armored guards and the gunfire draw rival squads.

Lieutenant

Bale

Location
Re-Education Center upper floor, Deadtown. Also reported in the Tank Depot of the Chang-san Air Base Bunker.
Region
Deadtown, southwest Hajin, North Korean side (Medium; the air base bunker is Extreme)
Weapon
Dreadnought: Legendary Type 73 LMG with a 100-round mag ($8,000). The fallback drop is a Rare Type 73 ($2,000).
Drops
Dreadnought or Type 73, Bale's Dog Tag (Legendary)
Key
Supreme Leader's Bunker Access Card for the Chang-san bunker. Reported as his key, but it may be a mission reward instead.
Intel
$25,000 after the Underground, Counterfeit and Human Intel Orders chapters
Tips
Official intel places him at the air base bunker; most field kills were in Deadtown. Don't walk his LMG hallway: snipe from outside, then finish up close. Expect smoke.

Lieutenant

Jang-ui

Location
Netshin Tech Complex: upper-floor server hall (14th floor per the key cards, 15th per CODCentral), The Grid
Region
The Grid, central Hajin City (Extreme threat)
Weapon
Paektu: Ultra Hyeon Burst AR ($11,200). The fallback drop is an Epic Hyeon Burst ($2,800).
Drops
Paektu or Hyeon Burst, Jang-ui's Dog Tag
Key
Jang-ui's Converted Power Room on the lowest floor of NuriGO Mall (single source)
Intel
$25,000. Listed as open.
Tips
Official lore puts his camp at NuriGO Mall; kills are reported at Netshin. Clear the exploding robot dogs and laser turrets, then suppress him with an LMG.

Lieutenant

The Scavenger

Location
No fixed spot. Reported at the South Island car park, Cheongun Village, Deadtown streets and Hajin River Heights.
Region
Varies across Hajin
Weapon
Oris 8.6 marksman rifle ($1,900). No named blueprint; rarity unconfirmed.
Drops
Oris 8.6, Scavenger's Dog Tag (Legendary), and a cache with a Gas Mask, Regional Combat Notes, Infantry Invasion Plans and an armor plate
Intel
$25,000. Listed as open; Hunt Towers often point to him.
Tips
Said to spawn near dead players or recent Lieutenant kills. Fights in the open behind vehicles, so use a scoped rifle from building corners. Free a backpack slot first.

Lieutenant

The Doctor

Location
Mirae General Hospital: wards, parking garage or grounds. His spot changes between matches.
Region
North-central Hajin, South Korean side (Low threat)
Weapon
Doctor's Salve: Legendary Patriot XMR battle rifle ($6,900)
Drops
Doctor's Salve, The Doctor's Command Office key, Doctor's Dog Tag (Legendary), a variable loot backpack
Key
The Doctor's Command Office (Legendary): 7th-floor hospital office holding an LT crate with the Tempered Armor Vest recipe
Intel
$25,000. One guide ties it to the Human Intel chapter; another lists it as open.
Tips
Clear the garage-entrance and hallway guards first. Spread out so he can't pressure the whole squad, and bring plates and a medkit. Linked to Operation Critical Extraction.

Lieutenant

Iskra

Location
Cheonwang Peak Array: stairwell of the multi-storey office/transmitter building
Region
Central Hajin, South Korean Wilderness (Medium threat)
Weapon
Widowmaker: Legendary Warlord shotgun ($3,700). The fallback drop is a Rare Warlord ($900).
Drops
Widowmaker or Warlord, Iskra's Dog Tag, Small Secure Backpack (Epic), Control Unit
Key
Iskra's Control Room: top floor of the transmitter building (single source)
Intel
$25,000. Listed as open; the Wolves Stadium Hunt Tower often points here.
Tips
Clear the ground-floor guards, then expect fire from above on the stairs. Drop back a flight to re-plate. Iskra comes down to you, so hold the stairwell with automatic fire.

Lieutenant

Roze

Location
DBN Headquarters rooftop terraces, The Grid
Region
The Grid, central Hajin City (rated Extreme; some lists say Critical)
Weapon
The Kraken: Astaroth .57 sniper variant, listed as Epic by one source and Legendary by others. The fallback drop is a Rare Astaroth .57 ($6,400).
Drops
Astaroth .57 or The Kraken, Roze's Dog Tag (Legendary), Infantry Invasion Plans, Drill Charge
Key
Roze's Highrise Armory: armory on floor 14 of Netshin Tech Complex (also an Operation Grid Assault reward)
Intel
$25,000 after the Underground Orders chapter
Tips
Her sniper rifle can down you in one shot. Take the emergency stairs clearing guards, peek briefly from HVAC cover, and flank along the terraces. Deathstalker may patrol the roof.

Lieutenant

The Warden (Kang)

Location
14th Political Prison: mess hall in a cell block, or deeper inside The Citadel
Region
Northwest Hajin, North Korean side (prison High, Citadel Critical)
Weapon
Incarcerator: Ultra X-58 Nyx SMG ($8,500). The fallback drop is a plain X-58 Nyx. CODCentral's observed drop was a Type 73 with a camo, so drops vary.
Drops
Incarcerator or X-58 Nyx, Kang's Dog Tag, riot shield
Key
Kang's Arms Incinerator in the prison's central block. Listed, but no drop confirmed yet.
Intel
$25,000. Listed as open.
Tips
Fights behind a riot shield with armored guards. Have one player draw the shield while others flank; a flashbang can make him drop it. Tags read 'Kang', not 'Warden'.

FOB

Boss Board & intel

  • The Boss Board is an FOB station with Lieutenants and Commanders tabs. It unlocks once you finish your 2nd DMZ Order page, not at a set level.
  • Lieutenant intel costs $25,000 DMZ Cash, starts a 'Paid Intel: Reach, then Kill' side op, and lasts for one deployment only.
  • Some Lieutenants' intel is locked behind Orders chapters: Roze needs Underground; Gorani and Bale need Underground, Counterfeit and Human Intel.
  • Commander info on the board is free, but you cannot buy Commander intel.
  • One guide reports that after your first purchase, switching intel to another open Lieutenant is free, and you can re-buy intel on killed Lieutenants to farm tags.
  • Lieutenants don't spawn every match. Buying intel makes sure the one you picked is active in that deployment.
  • Lieutenant Hunt Towers are skull-marked radio masts. Use the Upload Station at the top to mark the nearest Lieutenant for free; you can't choose which one.
  • Using a Hunt Tower starts a side op; the side-op entry pays +$500 (no separate tower XP figure is published). The LT Hunter trait gives extra intel from towers.
9 more
  • Every Lieutenant kill drops a Dog Tag Case. Carrying it shows your position on every Operator's Tac-Map until you exfil.
  • Only extracting the case progresses the board. It counts even if someone else made the kill, but dying with it loses the credit.
  • Leaving the case behind still pays the kill's XP and cash, plus a chance at the Lieutenant's loot-room key.
  • Signature weapons are a rare drop. If one doesn't drop, the Lieutenant's key opens a loot room where it is usually stored.
  • Payouts: $10,000 for each Lieutenant's first takedown and $50,000 for each Commander's first kill, paid once. Each extracted Lieutenant tag pays $25,000 and 1,000 XP.
  • Lieutenant tab challenges: kill all 10 Lieutenants once, then extract all 10 tags twice, then five times. Repeat-kill rewards are still classified.
  • Commanders are always somewhere on the map. They appear on the Tac-Map and your Team Leader calls them out when you get close.
  • The Scavenger is reported to appear near dead players. One guide says he also shows up where other Lieutenants died.
  • A full backpack blocks dog tag pickup, so keep a slot free before a boss fight.

Heat

Threat level & Hunt Squads

  • Every POI shows a Threat Level under the compass: Low, Medium, High, Critical or Extreme. It tracks AI only, never rival players.
  • Higher-threat POIs have more and tougher AI but better odds of valuable loot.
  • Noise, getting spotted and long fights raise the AI response. Stealth kills, breaking line of sight and moving to quieter areas bring it down.
  • Low: Imjin Farmland, Cheongun Village, Mirae Hospital, Songdo Wharf, Deadtown exterior. Medium: Wolves Stadium, Hajin River Heights, Cheonwang Peak Array, Rice Mill, Re-Education Center.
  • High: Heavenly Luck Casino, NuriGO West, Haneul Reactor (plus radiation), 14th Political Prison. Critical: The Grid, Chang-san exterior, The Citadel. Extreme: Netshin Tech Complex, Chang-san bunker.
  • A separate star wanted meter (top right of the HUD) reportedly climbs with AI kills. The Stealthy trait (Scout, Minor) slows it; leaked 'Evasive' would drop it faster.
  • The Hostiles Kill Count fills as you kill AI. When full, a Hunt Squad comes for you and you're Marked for Death. The threshold isn't published.
  • The Hunt Operators Dynamic Op is a separate system: it sends your squad after a full squad of rival players.
4 more
  • A stealth meter warns that AI is about to spot you, shifting white to yellow to orange. Go prone or get into cover.
  • AI infantry comes in four tiers, from unarmored grunts up to faceless, fully armored elites.
  • The Viper Sense trait hides you from AI targeting and thermal optics; Thermal Padding hides you from UAVs.
  • Official material gives POI threat no star rating. Run grades from F to S++ come from the After Action Report.

Tier 1 North Korean Grunt

Basic unarmored infantry.

Tier 2 Armored Soldier

Infantry with body armor.

Tier 3 Armored Gas-Masked Soldier

Armored infantry wearing gas masks.

Tier 4 Faceless Armored Soldier

Top AI tier: fully armored, face-covered elites.

Autonomous Combat Drone Swarm

Groups of small attack drones.

Autonomous LMG Combat Drone

Single drone armed with an LMG.

Autonomous Quadruped (K9)

Robot dogs that sprint at you, usually underground. Exploding versions are reported at Netshin Tech Complex.

Laser turrets

Reported Netshin Tech Complex defense that shreds armor fast. Clear them before fighting Jang-ui.

Attack Infantry Helicopter Patrol

Armed helicopters patrolling the airspace.

Road Convoy

Armed vehicle columns moving along roads.

Hunt Squad

AI squad sent to hunt you once the Hostiles Kill Count fills.

Lieutenant escorts

Loyal guards around Lieutenants; e.g. hazmat troops at the reactor, armored guards with the Warden.

Lieutenants

Ten named elite bosses with signature weapons, keys and Dog Tag Cases.

Commanders

Three roaming super-bosses that resist most standard weapons.

Rival Operators

Other player squads. They never count toward the Threat Level.
